Please read*- Every item is handmade individually so please be wary that this process creates small air bubbles, flaws, and imperfections in the resin. This is unavoidable but we do our best to keep this to a minimum. It can also create uneven surfaces to the sides, due to the flower and resin reacting in the curing process, this is something that could happen. Also please be aware that some flowers dry and preserve much better than others, some will fall apart, some keep their colour whilst others may darken and brown.

Note: Succulents do not preserve due to their water holding properties and the process of drying flowers, effecting their aesthetics greatly. Faux succulents can be added if you wish to send those as an alternate. Berries of all colours will dehydrate and turn a very deep reddish/black.

We are also limited by the state we receive the flowers, once a flower has been bruised or turns brown it will lose its colour and once its dried the resin will bleed into the flower. Please understand your flowers will not look the same after they have dried, by placing an order you are acknowledging this. These items typically take 7+ days individually to cast in resin so it is a very unique and bespoke service, imperfections are part of the art of not working with a machine.

Some flowers that have been chemically treated or dyed may affect the finished piece. These effects are unpredictable and can include but not limited to, bubbling, colour bleaching into the rest of the piece.

When working with dried flowers, the process requires many layers of resin being poured and time to cure in-between each layer to ensure that no flash curing happens. As resin heats up when it cures, its my responsibility to ensure timing is crucial to prevent any damage to your flowers. By using this technique the lines will be visible from the side view. ( If outside temps are above 23 degrees, resin can’t be poured in hot climates)

 

The whole process of drying the flowers and creating the keepsake takes approximately 10 to 18 weeks from when I receive the flowers.

By purchasing your flower preservation items with us you consent to us as J&A Original Designs using photographs and or videos of your flowers and finished pieces for promotion.

Please be aware all resins will amber/yellow over time – We ensure you have a care card to look after your end product.

Aftercare Instructions for shadow box frames:
* Flowers must be kept away from moisture and humidity. Do not display in rooms such as bathrooms, kitchens
* Do not place in direct sunlight as this will bleach the colours from your flowers over time.
* We take every care to package our frames but some small petals and small silica drying beads may become dislodged in transit. The hinged box frame makes it simple to gently remove these. Simply use a soft brush to remove these.
